ROB ZOMBIE's 'Past, Present & Future' Certified Gold
January 22, 2004ROB ZOMBIE's first-ever career retrospective, "Past, Present & Future", has been certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for shipments of more than 500,000 copies in the U.S. This is Zombie's seventh consecutive gold record, according to a posting on his web site.
The two-disc set, which was released in September through Geffen Records, contains a CD of 19 digitally remastered selections — including two new recordings — and a DVD of 10 music videos, including three previously unreleased.
As previously reported, Zombie's comic-book collaboration with Steve Niles, a new horror series titled "The Nail", will be published in March by Dark Horse Comics, Inc."The Nail" (see cover here) was co-written by Niles and Zombie and features art by Ben Templesmith. According to a posting at Zombie's official web site, "discussions have already begun regarding turning 'The Nail' into a major motion picture." In addition, Zombie will shortly begin writing his next solo album for a tentative late 2004 release through Geffen Records. Rob will once again co-write with Scott Humphrey, who has worked on all of his solo albums, but Zombie's backing band will probably be entirely new.
In addition to writing his new solo album, Zombie will start casting the production for "House of 1000 Corpses 2", the sequel to his directorial debut, which hit theaters last April and raked in $7.1 million in its first 10 days at the box office.
If the production stays on schedule, "House of 1000 Corpses 2" will be in theaters this summer.
